Welcoming the honorees, the Attorney General of Justice, César Mattar Jr., began the event by highlighting the Public Prosecutor's Office's efforts to achieve gender equality within the institution, reiterating the importance of holding an award that recognizes the work developed by these women. “Since we took office on April 12, 2021, we immediately placed almost 70% women in our administration, for reasons of fairness. But this strengthening is not only due to the commitment to inclusion; it is actually due to the need to recognize those who make a difference. It is not enough to be a woman to be honored; you need to be a woman and be among those who are the true reason for the Public Prosecutor's Office to exist, to strengthen the participation of those who make a difference. This is the commitment of our institution,” highlighted the Attorney General. Created by the Women's Center, the main objective of “Mulheridades: somos muitos, somos muitos” is to recognize women involved in the work of protecting women in situations of domestic violence and in the effectiveness of women's rights and guarantees, and who have somehow demonstrated distinct relevance in their respective areas of activity in favor of other women. For the Coordinator of the Women's Center, public prosecutor Luziana Dantas, “Mulheridades” aims to exalt the subjectivities and experiences belonging to the reality of each woman honored. “The term ‘Womanhood’ encompasses all women, in a multifaceted way, so we seek to give the greatest possible diversity to those honored, who are trans women, black women, indigenous women, women lawyers, women teachers, who make a difference in the way they contribute to society, so that it may be transformed in a more just way between women and men, but also through their own trajectory of overcoming and confronting this patriarchal system and intersectionalities, which encompasses aspects beyond being a woman, but also the racial and sexual aspects in which they are inserted, for example. It is a joint and daily confrontation in which these women experience greater vulnerabilities than white and heterosexual women, for example”, explains the coordinator of the Women’s Center.

Among those honored was the Coordinator of the Operational Support Center for Human Rights of the MPPA, Public Prosecutor Ana Cláudia Pinho, who spoke about the need to create truly democratic spaces for women through inclusion, especially through the articulation of the MPPA with society. “Since the first administration of PGJ César, in the first inauguration speech, there is a phrase that I repeat from time to time, which goes like this: many people need the Public Prosecutor's Office, but some need it more than others, that is, to effectively turn our attention to the most vulnerable people within Pará society. And from the beginning, the MP embraced this issue, and it was a principle that quickly bore fruit within the institution.”

“This is a demonstration by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in optimizing its work and services for this niche of society that has been historically vulnerable. So, Luziana, when you develop Mulheridades, and when I look at the people honored, I see that we have black women here, trans women, me, who is a lesbian woman, we have professors, the rector of the University of the Amazon, an indigenous woman, human rights defenders, who are also a great inspiration to us. We have very important sections here, which speak to each identity, the subjectivity of what, in general, we call a woman,” explains the public prosecutor.
